A collected, layered interior designed by Evensen Design
Austin Interior Design Studio

Everything we do starts with finding your inner style

We believe interior design should bring joy — and that includes the journey of collecting and curating every piece. From high-end residences to boutique commercial and hospitality spaces, Evensen Design creates interiors that tell your story.

Inside the studio — a considered, material-rich interior
Our Philosophy

We love an interior that tells a story

Erica Volkmer, Principal & Founder of Evensen Design, and her dynamic team work closely with clients to define and embrace their style. The studio's interiors are collected, not contrived — layered with texture and interest, and a fusion of high and low, because price shouldn't dictate interest.

Every space we envision is one of a kind: interesting juxtapositions, our client's existing pieces, a touch of whimsy — and yes, the occasional rule broken. Color is key, and great lighting is essential. That discovery process leaves clients not only in love with their space, but with a rich story of how it all came together.

Why Evensen

Luxe yet whimsical, and never by the book

The way you live is dynamic — so we never apply the same rule to everything. Design should be interesting. It should be curated. It should be you.

Collected, not contrived

Interiors gathered piece by piece, layered with texture and interest — never ordered from a single catalog.

High meets low

A confident fusion of high and low, because price should never dictate interest.

Color & light first

Color is key and great lighting is essential — the two philosophies that drive every scheme.

A touch of whimsy

We thrive on breaking the rules and a slightly absurd moment — hello, mirror installed on top of mirror.

Our Process

These are the details that matter

Both our residential and commercial design processes start with a deep-dive thesis on how you want your space to be experienced.

  1. 01

    Deep-Dive Thesis

Where do you sit down with a book? How do you get ready in the morning? We map your likes, dislikes and rituals first.

  2. 02

    Define Your Style

We help you define and embrace your inner style — building a scheme where color is key and lighting is essential.

  3. 03

    Curate & Collect

Every piece is collected and curated with intention — vintage finds, custom designs and your own treasured pieces.

  4. 04

    Celebrate the Special

If everything is special, nothing is. We create a hierarchy so special moments and special pieces truly shine.

We provide a comprehensive full-service interior design experience — renovations and new builds, commercial and hospitality design, furniture design, vacation home design, B2B packages, process oversight for smaller projects, and virtual consultations.

Yes. We specialize in designing unique interiors for boutique hotels, restaurants and exclusive amenity spaces — like our work at The Austonian Club — bringing something completely custom and curated to every space.

Our Process Oversight service is perfect for contained spaces that need the right team and design expertise — powder baths, home offices, guest bedrooms — with paint selections, lighting design and space planning within your existing footprint.

With a deep-dive thesis on your likes and dislikes and how you want your space to be experienced. Where do you like to sit down with a book? How do you enjoy your coffee? Those answers shape everything that follows.

Yes — our virtual consultations review floor layouts, space plans, and options for fixtures and finishes in a one-on-one session, ideal if full-service design isn't the right fit for your project.
